The Madness of King Nutbar is the second segment of the eleventh episode of the first season of Scaredy Squirrel. It premiered on September 15, 2011.

Summary[]

A king’s insanity causes a candy bar to discontinue, so Scaredy becomes the king of the factory.

Plot[]

The episode starts at the Stash n’ Hoard, where Scaredy is stacking cat food into the shape of a clock. He declares it lunchtime and when Dave overhears this, he gets excited, accidentally knocking Scaredy off the ladder and into the food court. Scaredy then takes a King Nutbar candy bar out of his locker. Dave wants to try it, but then realizes it has been expired, so Scaredy decides to find a new one.

Scaredy goes over to the Nutbar booth, and Nestor explains that the company has stopped making candy bars for some reason, and makes fun of them for it rather than show sympathy. Scaredy decides not to listen to Nestor and suggests that he and Dave go to the company to figure out why the candy bars are no longer available.

Once they arrive at the company, they find out how incredible the sight is, considering it is a palace. Scaredy comes over to a horse chancellor and asks why their candy bars aren’t available anymore, and when the King of the company is acting like he sees a unicorn, the chancellor explains that the company isn’t making bars because their king has been having daydreams about animals doing weird stuff. Upon seeing Scaredy and the King mess with each other, the chancellor decides to let Scaredy be the replacement king.

Scaredy is thrilled to be the king, and the chancellor gives him a crown and a fake beard. He asks him if he would like anything and Dave suggests ice cream. Scaredy then suggests that the company can go back in business. The chancellor agrees with this statement, and announces to workers “The king has returned!” The workers then start making the candy bars, starting with chocolate, and any type of nuts.

While all is finally well for the company, Scaredy decides to eat the candy bars the factory is making. Days later, Dave is hired as the jester and playing “Hug That Tree” with Scaredy. All of a sudden, Scaredy feels tired from running and takes a break to a candy bar. Later, he sits in a bathtub full of candy bars and requests to the chancellor that he wants more. All throughout this, King Nutbar is still acting out daydreams.

The next day, Dave wants to tell Scaredy about a situation, and after cleaning out the pile of Nutbars, he realizes that Scaredy has become overweight from eating and when he holds up a mirror in front of Scaredy, even the latter is shocked about it. He questions to the chancellor how this happened in the first place, and the chancellor answers that they unexpectedly put seven hundred non-essential fats in the bars (butter, lard, and bacon). He also says that they are out of Nutbars due to Scaredy’s constant demands, and Scaredy becomes horrified and sad upon hearing about his deed. Scaredy then suggests that they need a better king than him, and after King Nutbar frolics around him, he suggests that King Nutbar can become king again.

When asking the king doesn’t work, Scaredy oversees a butler giving Dave ice cream and puts the ice cream cone on the chancellor’s head to make him look like a unicorn. King Nutbar oversees his chancellor as his long awaited friend to come over, and acts happy about it for a while. His insanity then stops, and he decides to go back to business.

Some time later, Scaredy and Dave are about to leave the factory. The horse chancellor thanks Scaredy for helping the king end his insanity, and Scaredy decides they can make their Nutbars one hundred percent more nutritious, and the chancellor agrees with that suggestion.

The next day at the Stash n Hoard, Scaredy is back to his previous skinny form, and is waiting for the new Nutbars to arrive, but then Nestor tells him that the factory doesn’t sell nutritious foods, and jokes about the company going out of business because of this. Scaredy decides not to mind about this situation and decides not to have candy bars again. Dave’s stomach growls and he and Scaredy decide to go for ice cream as the episode ends.
